Patsy Carvalho is a proud Nevada native, educator, and leader with deep roots in Clark County. Having attended elementary, middle, and high school in Clark County before continuing her education at UNLV, Patsy has spent much of her life learning, working, and serving within the community she calls home.

Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom. Patsy holds a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing, a master’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing, and a second master’s degree in English with a concentration in rhetoric. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a specialization in homeland security, leadership, and policy.

Working closely with students and families every day has given Patsy firsthand insight into the challenges facing her community and the areas where systems can better serve the people who depend on them. Through her work in education and service in her church, she remains focused on strengthening families, improving schools, and addressing issues affecting everyday Nevadans, including the cost of living, homelessness, and access to quality healthcare.
